Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
Lecturer / Instructor of Digital Media, Art and Design
The University of the Pacific invites applications for a one-year
renewable non-tenure-track lecturer / instructor position in digital media, art
and design to begin August, 2021. The ideal candidates would demonstrate the
ability to teach courses in some or all of the following areas: animation,
interactive design, 3D modeling and visualization, virtual reality, game art
and design, contributing to the BA in Media X, and BFA in Art and Graphic
Design undergraduate majors.
Full time NTT faculty teach a minimum of 24 units (typically 6-8
courses depending on units) per year, advise students, participate in
departmental and program service. Coursework may include foundation,
intermediate and advanced courses in media, art and design. Relevant
professional experience is a plus.
The BA in Media X is an interdisciplinary major designed for
students who are interested in pursuing creative combinations of coursework in
subjects such as graphic design, English, business, theater arts, digital and
visual art, film studies, communication, computer science and engineering, and
music industries. The program is in its fourth year and is growing.
The Department of Art, Media, Performance and Design is committed

Faculty rank and title are contingent upon the successful
candidate’s experience/qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements include a MFA or MA in Media, Art, Design or related
field, and a demonstrated effectiveness in teaching undergraduates.
Preferred Qualifications
Collegiate level teaching experience.
Physical Requirements
Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist
motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking,
climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25
pounds.
