Environment Modeler


FuseFX has an opening in Vancouver. We have an opportunity at our studio for a talented and experienced? Environment Modeler  for current and upcoming projects. 

FuseFX is an award-winning Visual Effects Studio providing visual effects services for episodic television, feature films, commercials, virtual and VR productions. Founded in 2006, the company employs 500+ personnel across seven studio locations: our flagship office in Los Angeles, CA, New York City, Vancouver, BC., and Atlanta. Our offices in Montreal, Toronto, and Bogota, is serviced by FOLKS VFX. Folks joined the FuseFX family of brands in 2020 


  • Create and modify high quality photorealistic models and UVs by following the creative direction of the production. 

  • Comfortable completing a diverse?array of 3D tasks, such as;?animation, modelling,?rigging,?texturing,?shading, lighting,?rendering,?effects, scripting, tracking and compositing are a plus.  

  • Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment to deliver consistently high-quality work and troubleshoot technical problems on assigned shots. 

  • Interface effectively with artists in other departments to ensure the seamless integration of work between disciplines. 

  • Follow Supervisor directions, ensuring models created are accurate and effective. 

  • Maintain a desire to deliver consistently highly quality aesthetic and technical work, while encouraging colleagues to strive for the same standards. 

  • Should effectively execute all necessary assigned tasks while under tight production schedule deadlines. 

  • Sharp organizational and time management skills, able to engage in varied projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and working towards deadlines.? 

Traits of a successful FuseFX Modeler: 

  • 3+ years’ experience in a production environment 

  • Experience with Environment, Hard Surface vehicles or props and/or Character modeling. 

  • Proficiency in one or more high-end 3D and 2D software packages such as Maya, Zbrush, Mudbox, Substance Painter, and Photoshop. 

  • Knowledge of Nuke, Houdini, Mari, 3ds Max, and Photogrammatry considered a bonus. 

  • Strong creative and technical abilities. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills. 

  • Positive attitude and team motivator. 

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
