Systems Admin/IT Engineer

yU+co is a Hollywood-based design/Post Production studio specializing in film & television titles, branding and experiential design. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Systems Administrator/IT Engineer to provide technical support and functionally manage technical needs across our multi-faceted media studio.
We have listed an extensive job description for this position below. We understand that one individual may not have experience in all of these areas and are happy to have you grow and expand into this role if you have a strong knowledge base of most of these tasks. Responsibilities

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and functionally manage technical needs across a multi-faceted media studio

  • Conduct ongoing research and recommend improvements to workflows in order to improve productivity and/or communication to ensure that technical systems are operating at peak capacity
  • Research and support the adoption of developed tools and systems as needed
  • Create and support established yU+co technical standards and practices that will optimize the content creation process to make best use of our unique pipeline
  • Maintain optimal Deadline Render Farm systems through superior knowledge of the render farm and systems
  • Research, deploy and support in-house productivity software
  • Maintain tools/shaders/plugins/scripts and recommend relevant alternatives, as appropriate
  • Provide support and recommendations of tools and procedures that enhance the production pipeline

Required Skills

  • Post-production experience and/or studio facility experience in a deeply technical role, with a good understanding of the entire post-production process, preferably in motion design.

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills required
  • Experience and an understanding of all aspects of an IT Infrastructure
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain all technical infrastructure
  • Ability to work with artists, producers and executive stakeholders
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and demands
  • The ability to analyze and prioritize production needs and tasks
  • Highly detail-orientated with a strong ability to multi-task
  • Superior understanding of a deadline render farm system to manage and debug render issues
  • Familiar with C4D, Maya, After Effects, Redshift, Deadline
