VFX Production Supervisor

VFX Production Supervisor

 

This role involves working directly with the Gentle Giant Studios (GGS) Executive Producer and COO/CFO in the support of digital content creation that will be optimized across several entertainment mediums, to include, but not limited to, Major Motion Picture, Broadcast/Streaming Visual Effects, Gaming, AR/VR, 3D Printing. As well as various production departments, e.g., Art Department, Makeup, Wardrobe, Special Effects, etc. Position is based in Burbank, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Senior level of proficiency with capturing 3D data via a variety of methods, e.g., Photogrammetry Array Scanning, Hand-held Photogrammetry, Prop Scanning & LiDAR scanning.

-          Required to set up and operate 3-D scanning equipment on location and/or in-studio to capture client-specific data.

-          Manage the GGS Team in the field in concert with the GGS Executive Producer.

-          Always maintain highly professional standards of operation and communication.

-          Texture photography, hand-held Photogrammetry with DSLR.

-          Experience shooting HDR texture maps.

 

Senior level of proficiency with data processing using various software packages and methods to ensure accurate representation of the scanned assets, e.g., Geomagic, Reality Capture, Agisoft PhotoScan, Scene, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.

-          Data delivery must be made on time and in accordance with the client’s delivery specifications.

 

Senior level of 3D artistry, to include digital sculpting and/or 3D Modeling/Retopology.

-          Well versed in human anatomy, organic and hard surface modeling in Zbrush and Maya.

Senior level of proficiency with asset management workflow, including daily data uploads to clients and problem solving. Supervise technology-based maintenance issues, record keeping of hardware/software and digital assets.

 

Supervise and manage the internal pipeline workflow with the scan techs and artists. Maintain the GGS high bar of excellence demanded with the data capture through to asset deliverables. Strong leadership attention to details and communications with the GGS team players and GGS executives.

 

Lead role setting realistic goals and meeting project timelines provided by GGS executives, to ensure projects are coming in on time and on budget.

 

Job Requirements:
• Must have a valid passport and be willing and able to travel, sometimes internationally, for extended periods of time. Must be open to Production hours including nights and weekends.  
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. repetitively.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

 

Education and Experience:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant years of experience required.
