This role is an opportunity to be instrumental in the creative core of Sphere. We are seeking a candidate with experience in themed entertainment creative and theatrical technical practices and processes and ability to interpret creative dialogue/direction, translate into production tactics. The Production Manager must be adept at prioritizing and communicating in a high stakes fast paced environment. This position is highly collaborative and requires outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Alongside, a strong work ethic, solid judgement. As a critical foundation to the creative development, experience and design team at Sphere Studios, the Production Manager is the driving force of assigned project(s) and is responsible for managing all aspects (resources, schedule, budget, contracts), in all phases (development, concept, design, production) of that project. With experience managing complex design, media, animation, film, location based experience or immersive installation or similar scale projects, an extensive track record demonstrating successful collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and a passion for keeping strategic progress moving forward on day-to-day basis, the Production Manager is the key to the success of each project.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

· In partnership with Senior Production Manager, VP Executive Producer develop, establish and maintain production schedules, and workflows on assigned projects deliver updates on a regular basis

· Acts as the client facing point of contact to brands at the C-suite, stakeholder level as well as external creative partners; maintain and cultivate relationships with external partners

· Facilitate 3rd party RFPs/RFQs, oversee project bidding and award, develop project specific SOWs, vendor agreement, and procurement related tasks

· Ability to drive a project from conception to execution and define a production plan based on a creative brief. Works with Senior Production Manager, VP, Executive Producer and interdepartmental Managers on scoping and budget strategies for projects with experience handling budgets of $1M+

· Manage multiple workstreams and teams simultaneously with the ability to strategically structure and manage project teams of all sizes and disciplines including creative directors, 2D/3D designers, concept artists fabricators, technical artists and layered production teams and other 3rd party vendors

· Keep communication flowing across the team to assure success on all fronts

· Manage and provide daily mentorship to production coordinators

· 5+ years’ experience in similar role in entertainment design and production. Such as show management, creative producing or broadcast design production, feature film production management; project controls planning and / or theatrical production management with deeper experience in unique canvases and platforms.

· Broad knowledge of creative development, concept and design phases, VFX, theatrical, scenic/fabrication, film, animation, AR/VR, media or related workflows and pipelines

· Proven expertise in project management software tools (e.g. Shotgun, Smartsheet, MS Project, Trello, Jira, Asana) and the techniques to manage diverse, cross-functional teams

· Proven ability to deliver Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) Estimating for to determine feasibility of projects

· Ability to develop roadmap, plan and schedule in cross-discipline workstreams in both Critical Path and Agile

· Honed written communication skills with email and reporting

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with peers, sponsors, staff, senior management, vendors, and contractors.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule that will occasionally require weekends, nights and holidays and must be willing to travel to other locations as needed.
