Education Account Manager

Position Overview 

The Education Account Manager will work closely with post-secondary institutions and instructors in Film and Game Programs around the world. The role calls for someone who can create meaningful relationships with a variety of personalities, understand the customers context and translate their needs into tactical solutions. The Education Account Manager will support existing customers by coordinating workshops, events, certification and student outreach.  Moreover, this role will proactively identify prospective and new customers in order to build future relationships. This role will work closely with our Training Leads who create content for the learning management system, as well as our Senior Education Coordinator.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Execute the SideFX vision that meets department goals, delivers a personal touch to customers and strengthens internal teams 
  • Create, cultivate and manage close relationships with certified partners and schools that could become certified partners
  • Outreach and onboarding for prospective or new customers
  • Work with the Senior Education Coordinator to administer the certification program, including outreach to prospective partners and industry judges
  • Identify opportunities and create presentations to schools on a range of topics (Careers, new features in Houdini, curriculum recommendations, industry insights)
  • Collect feedback from our annual survey to present opportunities or adjustments to current programming
  • Schedule and coordinate Training Leads to deliver technical presentations, training or events for post-secondary institutions
  • Evangelize our learning management system, Houdini Insight and other instructor support tools (Slack, Houdini Office Hours)
  • Oversee and work with the Technical Operations team to implement the student licensing program
  • Manage the sale of licenses to schools and liaise with the Senior Education Coordinator to facilitate
  • Manage license requests, renewals and studio training licensing for all education customers
  • Liaise with marketing to manage and curate school reels
  • Assists with account management by contributing to the onboarding process with the goal of building lasting customer relationships
  • Actively identifies and forwards key opportunities to the Education and Training Manager
  • Some international travel will be required to attend conferences or to visit customers (when it becomes safe to do so)

Requirements 

  • Possess a university level degree or equivalent where there is clear applicability to this role
  • Strong interpersonal and initiative skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to establish clear direction, helping others achieve their best work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding strategist with persuasive closing skills and a strong analytical ability
  • Has a strong customer focus with demonstrated success in cultivating long-term relationships
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Demonstrates high performance with a proven track record of success in taking a leading role with an organization to build new programs
  • Experience in a creative field will be considered an asset
  • Experience supporting communities, preferably with post-secondary institutions is preferred but not required
