ASVP Video Systems Engineer

Amazon Studios Virtual Production (ASVP) is looking for an ASVP Video Systems Engineer for our Unreal-based system. You will be based at Amazon Studios headquarters at the historic Culver Studios. Your job will be interfacing with production to meet their demands of the Unreal system. You will be part of the studio team designing and operating "pop-up" and permanent ASVP LED Volume installations, possibly around the globe. You will monitor, validate, and ensure the fidelity of the “the signal” through the video distribution equipment from the Unreal control nodes to the machine room render nodes through to the LED panels. This role is part of a larger team that manages the signal from the game engine, to rendering, to the LED volume, all synchronized to the camera tracking system and physical recording camera sensor. Ultimately, you must ensure that all signals are routed as needed to various parts of the system during production.

You must be able to trouble-shoot quickly under the high-stress pressure of live action shooting. As part of a larger team, you will assist with the design, building, and maintenance of several systems requiring you to manage and work with many different people from different departments. As part of Amazon Studios, ASVP is leading a creative plan to help filmmakers bring their projects to life in a safe, innovative, and inspired art facility. You must be a builder at heart and a collaborator in spirit. This position will work closely with key creatives, production, and the insanely talented technology crew of Amazon/AWS to constantly inspire the filmmaking process. Join us at the beginning of our global Virtual Production initiative. We will obsess over our customer, the filmmaker. We will add to the traditional ways of filmmaking and invent new ways for filmmakers to use technology to enhance the art of storytelling.
