ASVP Virtual Art Department Technical Director

Amazon Studios Virtual Production (ASVP) is looking for an ASVP Virtual Art Department Technical Director for our Unreal-based system. As the Studio Virtual Art Department (VAD), you will interface with external third party VADs and help ingest assets into the ASVP system. You will evaluate incoming assets to ensure the highest quality with real-time performance in mind. 

· You must deal very well with production people - excellent communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills are required.
· Advanced experience using Unreal
· Proficient in asset building applications: Maya, Houdini, Blender, 3DSMax, Nuke, Zbrush, Substance Painter, etc..
· Up-to-date knowledge on best asset practices to maximize performance and visual fidelity in Unreal. This includes: topology, poly count, texture formats, bone count, skin clusters, material count, material complexity, etc.
· Evaluate incoming work from production VAD teams ensuring high visual quality and performance for real-time
· Profile real-time projects to ensure performance within Virtual Production guidelines
· Optimize assets while retaining visual quality
· Regularly provide feedback to external VAD teams on submitted work
· Work with creative teams in assembling virtual worlds
