Concept Artist

Description

RougeMocap is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Concept Artist to join our team! This talented individual should be able to develop and visualize ideas. In this role, you will consult with the creative team, interpret the concepts for the project, and translate the briefs into visual artworks. Our ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple projects with unwavering attention.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the project team to brainstorm and interpret the project brief. 

  • Researching relevant project material including translation styles, characters, and similar projects. 

  • Creating detailed key designs from a written brief.

  • Responding positively and proactively to feedback. 

  • Using traditional and technological approaches to creating designs in either 2D or 3D environments. 

  • Assisting in creating marketing materials and assets. 

  • Presenting concepts, research, and references to the project team. 

  • Interpreting initial ideas and creating quick sketch drafts for review. 

  • Developing characters, environments, props, and designs based on feedback.

  • Manage project timelines and schedules and report any issues to the supervisor. 

  • Keeping up to date with the latest design trends and advancements in technology. 

Requirements:

  • A portfolio of work demonstrating strong artistic and storytelling ability. 

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a concept artist or graphic designer preferred. 

  • Solid awareness of facial expression, pose, posture, gesture and movement.

  • Excellent sketching abilities for rough conceptualization. 

  • Ability to deliver high quality artwork against tight deadlines. 

  • Excellent communication and interpretation abilities. 

  • Team player, skilled at working independently.

  • Knowledge of animation and/or game development processes.
