Photogrammetry Capture Lead

The Photogrammetry Capture Technician Lead will be responsible for captures of very high detail photogrammetry and LiDAR data, both ground-based and aerial. Technician will also do in field QC of data before returning from location. MSG Sphere is a hybrid new format that requires a careful integration of cinematography engineering, technology, and standard production practices as well a healthy perspective on the future of entertainment. This role will mean creating new tools and integrate existing ones to capture and deliver on the unique value that Sphere promises.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

• Photogrammetry capture of environments, vehicles and props large and small
• LiDAR capture of locations and various assets
• Operate and support drones for aerial lidar and photogrammetry capture.
• Operate other scanners as necessary
• Help bridge needs between Capture and Post to facilitate dynamic needs
• Ensure quality of high detail capture as well as data integrity
• Manage raw data processing chain in the handoff to other departments

• Bachelors Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience in LiDAR and photogrammetry
• 3+ years of camera field work experience
• Should have a very strong photographic skillset and understanding of LiDAR. 
• Familiar with drone aerial capture techniques of large environments.
• Understanding of post scan data processing pipeline.
• Understanding of digital video production, digital workflows, cinematography, and/or post production environment 
• Adaptable/flexible in high-stress environments
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and capable of managing a nimble shoot team working at a very high level
