Who are we hiring?
The Real-time Software Engineering team designs & develops creative solutions for live events and the Sphere’s large-scale immersive and interaction platforms. We are looking for an astute software engineer specializing in Unreal Engine customization, plug-in/tools development, and hardware integration. The ideal candidate will also have a comprehensive understanding of motion graphics/VFX production pipelines. In this role, you will be integral in defining real-time capabilities for a world’s first immersive venue.
What will you do?
• Design, develop, and implement customizations, tools, UI/UX, and plugin-ins for Unreal Engine with C++ and Blueprints
• Integrate hardware and software components
• Observe team workflows to identify problems, bottlenecks, and create/propose new tools/solutions
• Create and maintain documentation and tutorials on how to use tools
• Integrate input from other project team members into cohesive and stable solutions
• Continually maintain code repositories with up-to-date versions of projects
What do you need to succeed?
• 3+ years of professional experience developing with/for Unreal Engine, including C++ and Blueprints, UI, AI, animation, optimization
• Experience writing tools that improve user experience and are reliably stable on deployment
• Working knowledge of Perforce version control
• Familiarity with digital content creation packages like Houdini, Substance Painter, Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, etc
• Familiarity with live production protocols is a plus (OSC, genlock, timecode, DMX, etc.)
• Experience with C# and the Unity game engine is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound creative, strategic, and analytical thinking skills, while maintaining composure in stressful situations
• Applicants should provide their own code samples for tools or apps along with technical design documentation
