Who are we hiring?
Madison Square Garden Entertainment is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join the Sound Production Software team. In this role, you will assist in the development and deployment of tools and workflows used in the production of audio content for MSG Sphere and related properties. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a formal education in audio production and software engineering, and who has a strong interest in further developing their skills in both areas.
What will you do?
· Support the team in all stages of the software development process, from requirements gathering and product specification, through feature development and QA, to eventual deployment and iteration within real production workflows.
· Assist in the installation and configuration of hardware and software audio processing and presentation systems as part of software development and audio production workflows.
· Create written and video documentation for Sound Production products to facilitate the rapid onboarding process for audio content creators
· Assist audio content creators with the usage of Sound Production tools
· Develop and execute Quality Assurance plans to ensure the team’s deliveries are functionally correct and reliable
What do you need to succeed?
· Undergraduate degree in Audio Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience
· Understanding of software engineering technologies, platforms, and development workflows
· Experience writing software tools for workflow automation tasks in languages such as Python
· Experience with audio production workflows, including software applications and physical hardware
· Understanding of modern Spatial Audio workflows (e.g., Atmos, MPEG-H, ADM)
· Basic knowledge of audio-related math (3D geometry, digital signal processing)
· Experience using Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence
· Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
