REPORTS TO: CTO

OVERVIEW:

Our small, agile tech team is looking for a Junior to Intermediate Systems Administrator. 

You will support a staff and crew of approximately 100 individuals working on several concurrent projects. Our team uses a mix of local and remote workflows. You will work in our Los Angeles based studio, going hands on with all the technology used to create our content.  

Our ideal candidate is energetic, self-driven, observant, and proactive. You should have a broad base of experience and the ability to pick up new skills quickly in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with others in high-pressure situations to solve and prevent problems. You will take on new tasks and technologies to implement the department’s short and long term goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Linux Server and Windows/Mac Workstations configuration and maintenance

  • Remote workers administration and set up

  • System administration and troubleshooting for MacOS, Windows 10, and Linux servers

  • Troubleshooting software and hardware in studio

  • Promoting IT security practices to all staff in the office

  • Maintenance of physical LAN (cabling, switching technology, Wifi).

  • Document processes and maintain software/hardware inventory for the studio.

  • Periodically undertake projects and implementations of new systems and deployments of software

REQUIREMENTS

You must have:

  • Solid understanding of MacOS systems administration

  • A solid foundation in IP Network fundamentals

  • Familiarity with server room maintenance: UPS monitoring, server racking, cable management.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs

You should have:

  • Some knowledge of configuration management systems experience (JAMF, MDM, Ansible, etc.)

  • Some knowledge of directory services like Active Directory and/or Google Workspace 

It would be nice if you have:

  • BASH shell scripting, or Python experience

  • Remote Access Solutions (PCoIP, NoMachine, etc.)

  • Experience with high performance Enterprise storage and NFSv4/SMB protocols.

  • Experience in high end VFX or Animation environments

  • Knowledge of DCC software and systems a plus (Toon Boom, Shotgun, Adobe CC, Maya)
