COMPOSITOR/MOTION GRAPHICS ARTIST

9iFX is a boutique visual effects studio based in Portland, Oregon. We are a full service post house, drawing in a wide variety of projects for Film, TV and brands.

Our team may be small, but we’re scrappy and we produce creative, visually stunning and technically challenging VFX and digital projects for a wide range of clients. 

We are looking for a couple of After Effects artists, from junior to senior level who specialize in realistic VFX compositing, motion graphics, and/or design to join our in-house team.  If you can edit and do color correction, that would be a big plus too!

This is a list of skills we are looking for but understand Motion and VFX are different worlds.  We're looking for both types of skillsets to fill multiple positions:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Seamlessly integrate the various layers or elements of a live-action shot.
  • Ability to tackle shots from start to finish, including roto, tracking, paint, 2d animation and creation of elements, etc.
  • Make titles move – motion graphics and 2d animation, animated logos, and branding
  • Matte extractions from blue/green screen photography.
  • Strong attention to detail, sense of color, colorspace and lighting.
  • Composite Multi-Pass CG Elements to create photo real 3D shots.
  • Clean and efficient project file organization.
  • Animated elements on touchscreens and other interactive displays
  • Create/edit animated social ads/clips
  • Create still renders of work for promotional material
  • Communicate progress of work to VFX Supervisor and Producer in a timely fashion.
  • 2D/3D design sense

 Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in VFX and motion graphics.
  • Must have a portfolio that demonstrates VFX and/or motion design.
  • Excellent understanding of the following programs:
    • Adobe After Effects
    • Mocha
    • Indesign/illustrator
    • Adobe Premier
    • knowledge of Cinema 4D is a plus.
    • DaVinci Resolve is a plus
  • Experience with After Effects 3D tracking, matchmove and camera solves.
  • Experience with rotoscoping
  • Must be extremely organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take criticism, and work under high pressure with short deadlines.
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet deadlines. – ug – we try to avoid this and usually do a pretty good job of it.
  • Must be pretty good at Smash Bros 64 – but not too good - for in-office
  • Must be based in Portland or willing to relocate for Jr positions.  Willing to discuss options for sr. roles.
