Description
We are looking for a talented Creature and/or Cloth & Hair TD to join our busy team across multiple potential locations. (Offer remote workings globally and have offices based in Wellington, Vancouver and Melbourne.)
A Creature TD is responsible for building, rigging and simulating the internal anatomy of a creature, in order to drive the final deformation of the skin. They also define animation controls and rigging puppets to be used by animation and other departments.
Applicants should be experienced and passionate about building photo-realistic creatures. Our ideal candidate would have broad anatomical knowledge and be well versed in creation, rigging and the simulation of skeletons, muscles, and skin.
Creature TDs work closely with various departments, especially Modelling, Animation, and Shots and collaborate with the Creature Cloth/Hair TDs to deliver dynamic, realistic creatures.
Our successful Creature TD will -
- Have strong scripting and debugging skills are a must.
- Have 5+ years as a full time Senior Creature TD on feature films
- Have experience with skinning and deformation of photo realistic characters and/or creatures
- Be a Maya power user
- Be a Python scripting power user
- Have Linux experience
Desirable additional skills -
- Experience in Cloth and Hair simulation a plus
- Python, Perl, and C++ knowledge a plus.
