Job Description
The IT Director will be
responsible for maintaining the current infrastructure, as well as architecting
and implementing new technologies as our organization scales. This position is
for our Vancouver location.
Responsibilities (full list):
- Overall responsibility for the IT department, including
department staffing and management, as well as vendor management.
- Manage user access to infrastructure via remote
protocols and on-prem.
- Ensuring company security policy is in compliance with
media and entertainment industry standards, as well as overlapping client
needs.
- Work with existing system providers to implement new
initiatives, ensuring compatibility with company policies and procedures.
- All hardware - procurement, tracking, installation,
maintenance, upgrading, troubleshooting
- Administration of Windows-based environment, and
enterprise network.
- Research, plan, and design budget-appropriate
infrastructure upgrades that support a data-heavy pipeline across multiple
locations.
- Preserve and secure sensitive assets by building upon
our existing disaster recovery, back-up procedures, information security
and control structures
- Recommend information technology strategies, policies
and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems;
evaluating trends; anticipating requirements; and take ownership of
implementing the above.
- Collaborating with the production team on IT related
issues.
- Documenting best practices and operating procedures to
ensure that users follow standardized workflows.
Experience / Competencies
- 7+ years of relevant experience. Degree in Computer
Science is an asset.
- English and French knowledge an asset?
- Excellent knowledge of encryption and security
principles.
- Firewall and network implementation experience is a
must.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and active
directory is required.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace is an asset.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies, imaging and
software deployment is required.
- Previous experience in the Media and Entertainment
industry is a bonus.
- Interest in motion capture technologies is a must.
- Technical writing skills, as well as ability to explain
technical concepts in simple terms.
