VP Sales & Partnerships- Sphere

Who are we hiring?
The VP of Sales & Partnerships will be responsible for selling multi-year category sponsorships (i.e. official 5G connectivity partner, official Cloud computing partner), extensive brand advertising on the MSG Exosphere, corporate event packages, live event partnerships, branded content creation for the Sphere that drives Sphere Studio revenue, as well as corporate hospitality. This is the opportunity to lead and help build a brand-new sales organization within MSG that will introduce MSG Sphere to the world's largest advertisers. This role will report directly to the SVP of Sales & Partnerships and will bring high energy, passion, and GTM excellence to lead and help build a world-class team of sellers. The VP of Sales & Partnership will be a player-coach, invested in building and growing their team while also meeting and exceeding revenue targets.

What will you do?

  • Hold c-level marketing relationships to help unlock and develop new lines of business.
  • Meet & exceed team annual sales quota and quarterly targets, while managing an extensive sales pipeline across multiple industries
  • Build and support a sales and account management team to both sell and service Sphere deals. This includes selling key multi-year category sponsorships, brand advertising on MSG Exosphere, corporate event packages that include venue hospitality, and package branded content creation for the Sphere that drives Sphere Studio revenue.
  • Inspire, support, train, and motivate a sales team, enabling them to meet/exceed goals as well as deliver first-class campaign executions
  • Develop and implement verticalized sales strategies designed to maximize revenue streams for the portfolio of Sphere products, while driving customer value and KPI’s

What do you need to succeed?
  • 15+ years direct sales experience and 5+ years as a sales manager, coaching and leading teams
  • C-level brand marketing relationships with Fortune 500 companies
  • Seasoned negotiator and relationship builder with a proven track record of negotiating complex, multi—product, multi-year media & sponsorship deals that exceed aggressive revenue targets
  • Extensive knowledge of brand marketing and sponsorship sales, preferably having sold for both traditional and digital-led ad sales with live events (sports, music) experience a plus
  • Creative product-centric thinker that is comfortable bridging sponsorship and advertising with technology and strategic partnerships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong cross-functional leader who can partner with operations, content strategy, and production
  • Goal oriented and can promote a team atmosphere
  • Strong analytical skills and executive presentation skills; this person must be able to own and articulate a clear sales strategy for their book of business
