ROLE SUMMARY: The Electrician supports MSG Sphere with the daily operation of all building electrical systems, will be engaged in maintaining and repairing all facility electrical equipment and infrastructure and will ensure to identify best practices for a safe and efficient environment for guests and employees
What will you do?
- Operate, service and maintain all electrical systems including but not limited to main sub stations and electrical panels, lighting control system, automatic transfer switches, uninterrupted power supplies and will provide support to the building engineers in electrical troubleshooting, installations and repair.
- The electrician will also provide support to concerts and events in the distribution of temporary power solutions as needed.
- Service, maintain and repair lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, motor control devices, circuit breakers and transformers.
- Locate and diagnose electrical system issues and assess motor winding conditions using a variety of electrical test equipment.
- Install, repair, or replace conduit, wiring, boxes, panels and switchgear in accordance with local code specifications.
- Interpret drawings and specifications to determine electrical requirements for circuits, motors, light fixtures, and control circuits.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on electrical equipment and sustain all required documentation.
- Implement lock out tag out procedures and assess hazardous conditions present throughout the facility.
- Service, maintain and repair electrical infrastructure pertaining to food service equipment, concession stands and kitchens.
- Work alongside the building engineers during events, complex projects, and extensive planned maintenance procedures.
- Operate various types of hand tools, power tools, shop equipment and maintain inventory of electrical hardware and devices.
- Service maintain and install temporary power, cabling and distribution boxes for concerts and special events.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
- Ability to work at height (upwards of 200’-300’+) on interior and exterior catwalks and on building maintenance unit potentially in confined spaces and/or on climb ladders.
- Extensive standing & walking
What do you need to succeed?
- 5+ years of experience as a journeyman level electrician preferably in an arena or public assembly environment.
- Ability to operate a variety of aerial work platforms, boom lifts and scissor lifts.
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Must be proficient in the safe use of trade related tools and shop equipment.
- Proficient in conduit layout and bending.
- Knowledge in high rise fire, life and safety protocol and procedures a plus.
- OSHA 10 certified.
