Senior Production Coordinator

Who are we hiring?
MSG is looking for a looking for a Sr. Production Coordinator with experience scheduling, communicating and coordination of complex projects involving live action, studio, and post media production. Production Coordinators at MSG are responsible for acting as a key support for department and will take direction from the Producer, Studio Manager, or Post Supervisors to support projects from initiation to final delivery of content. They will support production at an end-to-end scale from capture through post for the newly created MSG Sphere Studios in Burbank. As the creative content shop for the MSG Sphere projects, we strive for the best content creation, delivering content that has never been witnessed before on displays that have never been seen in this scale. The Production Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all productions are well supported during the production process. This role will cover all productions within the studio, locations and post; including attractions, immersive shows, residencies, and corporate events to name a few.

What will you do?

• Act as Production liaison between outside Coordinators and in-house Production, Post, Finance and Safety Executives on current and development projects as directed
• Oversee creation and maintenance of studio/network contact and distribution lists provided to the shows and ensure that shows are following appropriate distribution protocol
• Track and audit all deliverables during production including call sheets, production reports, schedules, contract charts, etc.
• Coordinate delivery and approval of all studios wrap materials
• Maintain detailed research documents for Production Management team for hiring of line producers, production managers, key department heads and other key production personnel
• Create and maintain research documents pertaining to locations, stages, tax incentive countries, production service companies overseas, etc.
• Set up, schedule, and coordinate initial kick off and ongoing production meetings for all internal teams involved
• Extensive notetaking during interdepartmental meetings and during production calls covering topics including, but not limited to, episodic cuts, productions in development, “kick-off” calls, etc.
• Point of contact for production insurance companies regarding initial set up and submitting of pertinent documents such as E&O applications, submission of affidavits, etc.
• Revise and further develop manuals, production templates and checklists starting from studio internal checklists within departments to the production manual distributed to producers and personal on the show level
• Educate, demonstrate, and trouble-shoot company policies and procedures including expense reporting, office logistics, etc. to fellow departments
• Supervise and mentor department interns, increasing their leadership skills, production knowledge and collaboration
• Develop and build tracking grids for agreements, vendors, union/guild documents, etc.
• Arrange all necessary travel accommodations for executives, producers and staff both for domestic meetings and international location scouts/shoots


What do you need to succeed?

• 3-5 years Industry Experience
• Physical Production experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and 365/Outlook
• Basic knowledge of physical production, forms and schedules
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to keep good records and data
• Good networking, research, reach out and follow up skills
• Good phone and communication skills
• Proficiency with the following: MS Office 360, Calendar, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Snmartsheet
• Tireless attention to detail and follow through
• Have a basic understanding of the following: production budgeting/accounting, scheduling, workflow for live action production and/or post-production
• Motivated to learn
• Ability to work autonomously while having a clear sense of when to seek counsel from Producer or Manager
• Developing ability to interact with Clients (with support of Producer)
• A sense of urgency balanced with the ability to prioritize and remain calm
• Behavior consistent with MSG values
