Show Control Specialist - Hybrid

Who are we hiring?
MSG Sphere Studios is seeking an individual who has strong experience in live events and fixed installation show control programming. As the Show Control Specialist, you will help design & integrate video, audio, lighting, automation, etc. into a show control system for MSG Sphere Studios as well as be a resource for planning and deploying venue show control systems. This role requires stellar communication skills that will be mandatory to interpret interdepartmental goals at every level. Flexibility and quick thinking are key to working in this fast-paced studio environment.

What will you do?

• Provide MSG with Show Control solutions for Audio, Visual, Lighting, etc. installations.
• Participate in the design, development, implementation and support of AV, Control and Network systems.
• Develop custom equipment drivers, control methodologies, architectures, and custom GUI’s.
• Plan and direct overall projects, systems testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Store, retrieve and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
• Monitor control systems to ensure systems operate reliably and within established performance criteria.
• Self-manage assignments and work autonomously when necessary.
• Be highly collaborative and focused on sharing details routinely and consistently with team members.
• Demonstrate a persistent optimism and ability to navigate challenges in a way that produces value, exceeds expectations, and promotes company success.


What do you need to succeed?

• Knowledge of the following preferred
o Q-SYS Audio & Control (Q-SYS certification preferred)
o Control Systems Programming and Operation (Medialon, Node-Red, etc.)
o A confident, professional, and persuasive communication style with senior leaders and team members
o Scripting (Lua, Python, SQL, JavaScript, etc.)
o Networking Design, Deployment and Operation
o Video and Presentation Systems Programming and Operation (7th Sense, Disguise, Watchout, Touch Designer, Pandoras Box, etc.)
• Proven experience with electronic control systems and signal processing, familiarity with relays and Programmable Logic Controllers is a plus.
• A passion for creative problem-solving and strategic thinking
• Ability to remain flexible and calm in high-pressure situations and adjust as multiple moving
parts consistently change
• Work in a production environment with the ability to work off hours and weekends as necessary
