Senior Animator

Description

Deck Nine Games is looking for a creative and talented Senior Animator for an unannounced AAA adventure game. You will focus on gameplay animation (i.e., locomotion, combat, etc.) as well as adding nuance, intent, and emotion with facial motion capture data.  Your goal is to deliver meaningful performances in our narrative adventure games that makes fans fall in love with the characters. The perfect candidate will have demonstrable skills with gameplay animation, facial performances (FACS-based experience is preferred, but not essential), and has the ability to effectively mentor junior members of the team. You will be integral to the high-quality bar for the game.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with body motion capture data to craft the best performances possible
  • Work with Faceware to deliver high quality cinematic facial performances
  • Enhance keyframes to bring to life the actor’s performance using Maya software, making it as appealing as possible
  • Assist the lead when necessary to provide notes for junior artists and mentor junior artists as needed

 

Requirements

  • Fluency in Maya
  • A demo reel that demonstrates character, emotion, and performance; FACS-based facial animation in addition to working with performance capture is preferred.
  • Passion for acting, storytelling and games
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range: $82,000 + DOE

It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. **
