Technical Creative Specialist

THE ROLE.

This is a key role within the Global IndustryTeam, reporting to the Head of Creative Services, and requires someone who possesses technical, interpersonal, and creative skills to educate and implement our software to clients and prospects around the globe.

  • Support Pre/Post-sale of Katana prospects and clients with technical workflow support, training, and problem-solving.
  • Provide production insight into look development & lighting feature development to the product, design, and engineering teams.
  • Help steer the product by being available for Feature testing of all new features and providing and documenting feedback and workflow testing.
  • Help test workflows between other DCCs and develop test scenes from those applications to demonstrate good and bad behavior while handing over test scenes for QAs.
  • Act as a strong internal advocate for our customers, ensuring feedback is communicated between sales, support, and product engineering.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry workflows (eg. USD).
  • Create and maintain demo assets, scenes, and scripts for existing and upcoming Foundry products.
  • Create and record educational and promotional videos.
  • Help create content for trade shows and be the face of the product and company at industry-wide events.
  • Contribute feedback to marketing materials and product development.
  • Participate in select industry events to promote the Foundry brand and products.
  • In conjunction with the product team, design, develop and test Macros, SuperTools, Templates, and example & test scenes for Katana for both internal and external use.

Requirements

  • Advanced Katana user
  • Industry knowledge of 3D workflows, techniques, and applications. The ideal candidate must have 2+ years of 3D production experience using Katana.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely; organized with strong time management skills.
  • Track record of fostering positive customer relations.
  • Other Foundry product experience and knowledge of 3D workflows in Maya, Houdini, 3ds Max, or Cinema 4D will be considered assets.
  • Advanced Python skills are an asset.
  • Lua scripting knowledge is an asset.
  • C & C++ experience an asset.
  • Passion for film, media, and entertainment.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability and zeal for learning new techniques and constantly expanding software workflow knowledge.
  • English - Full professional proficiency (additional languages advantageous)
  • Previous experience with talking to large crowds will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the time, occasionally at short notice.
  • Eagerness to learn new techniques and constantly expand software knowledge.
  • Enjoys coaching, mentoring and teaching complex software solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills addressing various groups of customers: technical, business, and/or project management.
