On Set Technical Supervisor - Onsite

Who are we hiring?
MSG is looking for a On-Set Technical Supervisor to join a groundbreaking advanced camera and immersive capture department based in Los Angeles. What will you do?

• Estimate and anticipate capture costs and post production implications, and help establish organizational best practices to produce on-time deliveries of high-quality content
• Plan, troubleshoot, and manage the crossover between production and post execution challenges with design, scope, and budget considerations
• Coordinate closely with the pipeline team, VFX team, Color Supervisor, and other third party vendors to assure that all content meets minimum specifications and smooth handoff from capture to post production
• Improve and streamline scalability, efficiency, and execution across the range of Sphere-appropriate image acquisition techniques
• Assist in establishing and documenting workflows, creative standards, and processes as well as technical guidelines for the post production team

What do you need to succeed?

• 5 years minimum experience with large format/large data/immersive content creation as technical/creative supervisor or in a similar management role for high-end film, commercial, premium television, or giant screen productions with proven track record
• Proven track record managing multiple fast-paced projects in a large organization
• Expert level knowledge of technology platforms and disciplines with a detailed understanding of how these are deployed within production and post production
• Deep knowledge of production and post production processes including image acquisition, optics, ingest, editing, visual effects, color, and QC
• Experience managing and relating with third party vendors to assure seamless handover of required assets and integration of externally and internally-created content
• Familiarization with current trends and workflows across the industry for multi-camera array and high resolution capture, Virtual Production, VFX
• Comfortable working in a production environment in remote locations on a fast-paced schedule with international deliveries.
• Excellent problem solving, communication skills, ability to lead, organize, and manage studio expectations with digital artists, developer expectations, and attention to detail.
• Experience with shared storage and asset management workflows
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take criticism, and work under high pressure with tight deadlines and dynamic decision-making while maintaining team cohesion and positive attitude
• Knowledge and interest in current trends in high resolution film, digital, and post-production technologies

• This role requires travel approximately 50% of the time
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs
• Must be available outside of regular business hours, as dictated by shooting schedules
• Travel to foreign countries may be necessary to satisfy the duties and responsibilities of this role. This may require the successful candidate to obtain vaccinations depending on the location of a particular assignment. The Company will consider requests for reasonable accommodations regarding such requirements.
