Who are we hiring?
MSG is looking for a Dailies Supervisor to join a groundbreaking post-production department based in Los Angeles. As the content delivery team for all MSG Sphere projects, we strive to create world-class experiences at an unprecedented scale for the largest LED screens ever made. The Dailies Supervisor is responsible for supporting the MSG Sphere Studios departments with the technical and administrative oversight of the dailies process. This position is an integral part of a fast-paced and agile post-production environment whereby staff and creative partners will depend on the skills and talent possessed by the Supervisor. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the dailies pipeline both on-site and in remote shooting locations. They will work closely with the capture, post, and production management teams to create the dailies workflow process. The Dailies Supervisor should be nimble, proactive and able to seamlessly pivot between tasks as necessary. The ideal candidate will be able to track and work on multiple projects, support several teams simultaneously, and have a keen awareness of deadlines. This role requires a deep knowledge of episodic and feature post production dailies workflows as well as capture techniques and production pipelines for producing high-end content. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, highly organized, and very technical.
What will you do?
• Coordinate pre-shoot dailies workflow meetings with relevant stakeholders.
• Create, own and maintain technical documentation for each project going through the studio.
• Work with internal teams to ensure the best project workflow and pre-show vetting of each workflow.
• Guide the ingest and technical approval of dailies from internal and external staff.
• Ensure that Sphere guidelines and protocols are followed by internal staff and freelancers.
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
What do you need to succeed?
• Extensive knowledge of codecs, image types, file formats, resolutions and frame rates.
• Prior experience as a technical Dailies Producer or Dailies Operations Manager strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to pick up new software toolsets quickly and independently.
• Proven experience in episodic and/or film dailies workflows.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills as well as juggling competing priorities and changing expectations.
• Knowledge and interest in current trends in video and post-production technology.
• Must be a team player and work well under tight deadlines.
