3D Digital Art Generalist Instructor

LSU Digital Media Arts & Engineering is looking for an energetic, well articulated, and accomplished 3D industry professional to teach 3D modeling, rigging, and animation for a games, animation and visual effects master's degree program. The successful candidate will be a skilled practitioner with a passion to develop the next generation of talent in the field.

Job Responsibilities

This position will teach at the undergraduate and graduate level in animation and modeling.

  • Course preparation and updating materials to the latest version of Maya/Max/Blender/Substance.
  • Work with the program director to oversee development and curriculum including competencies from each class.
  • Teach applied hands on classes that include students from diverse background.

Service -- 30% -- Provide services to the School, College, and University, and help lead program development. Participate in student advising and mentoring. Help in marketing the program in various events across the country.

  • Participate in program faculty meetings.
  • Participate in school activities as it relates to the program.
  • Keep on top of industry trends.
  • Participate in professional training and development.
  • Hands-on role in curriculum development.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s and Master's degree or equivalent experience in either games, visual effects, or animation as a senior level artist or technical artist with 10+ years industry and/or teaching experience; Strong knowledge of modeling, rigging, texturing, rendering and animating 3D models in Maya or 3D Studio Max. Demonstrated abilities in lighting, rendering, materials and texture creation tools such as Substance Painter or Substance Designer is a plus
