Description
The School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University seeks a
professional editor, finisher, or visual effects artist for a term
(Professional Lecturer) position in one of the most innovative and
fastest-growing cinema programs in the country. Position begins in September
2023.
DePaul University is located in the heart of Chicago's vibrant
Loop and Lincoln Park communities. In 2022, the School of Cinematic Arts was
ranked 15th in Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of the top film schools in the
country and named by Variety as one of the top film schools in the world.
There are currently over 1,900 majors enrolled in our BA, BFA, BS,
MS, and MFA degree programs including concentrations in editing, visual
effects, documentary, animation, creative producing, directing and sound.
Resources include four full sound stages at Cinespace Studios, two sound
studios, color and editing suites, industry-standard camera packages, a grip
truck, two green screen stages, motion capture systems, a television studio,

Ideal candidates for the positions will have extensive experience
in one of the following areas: fiction editing, finishing, or visual effects.
College-level teaching experience desired. Job responsibilities include
teaching, curricular development, service, supervising student/faculty projects
and continued creative activities and/or scholarship in the field. Applicants
with success in working with diverse student bodies are strongly encouraged to
apply. Terminal degree and/or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; positions are
dependent on budget approval.
