UTS Animal Logic Academy (ALA) is a world class
digital-production education centre that offers a 1-year accelerated,
industry-led Master of Animation and Visualisation, a 3-month Graduate
Certificate, short courses, undergraduate subjects as well as postgraduate
research opportunities. Graduates have gone on to work at studios such as
Animal Logic, Cheeky Little, Fin Design & Effects, Flying Bark, Framestore,
Future Associate, ILM, Luma Pictures, Plastic Wax, D Neg, WETA and many others.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity within the Animal Logic Academy
(ALA), for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to strengthen our
teaching and curriculum within the context of studio practice. We are looking
for a computer graphics lead (CG Lead) specialising in:
- FX Lead (Houdini) with pipeline
experience
You will be responsible for the supervision of the relevant team
of students as they contribute to the professional-style group projects
delivered from the Academy, as well as researching relevant emerging industry
trends. In this role you will build and maintain effective relationships with
industry though managing industry experts to supplement the delivery of
nominated specialisations.
Although both positions are full-time, we are open to
negotiating part-time and/or flexible hours. We encourage
both senior and mid-career candidates to apply.
The Academy is a custom-built animation and effects studio and
teaching facility at the UTS campus in Sydney Australia. Mentored by industry
experts, students are immersed in a full-time studio environment, and master
knowledge and skills through large-scale collaborative project-based learning.
About you
As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer you will have
excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor students. We are
seeking someone with demonstrated experience in high-level 3D animation and/or
visual effects productions and an interest in emerging visualisation
technology. You will have a thorough understanding of the of the 3D animation and
post-production processes. Other requirements include:
- Professional experience working on
high-level studio or television animation or visual effects productions
- Strong knowledge of relevant 3D software
packages with high-level level knowledge in 3D animation and/or visual
effects production
- Expertise in supervising relevant aspects
of animation and visualisation production
- Ability to connect with industry partners
Base Salary Range: $112,310 to
$132,925 pa (Level B) / $136,526 to $156,789 pa (Level C)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to
the base salary.
This position is full-time and appointment will be made on
a fixed
term basis until December 2024, with good prospects for
renewal.
