Assistant or Associate Professor

The College of Creative Arts (CCA) seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professorship to support the Games and Simulation program within the Department of Emerging Technology in Business and Design (ETBD). This full-time tenure-track position is open at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank.

Duties: 

  • teach courses that may include game art (e.g., 3D modeling, sculpting, materials, and/or animation), technical art, game development, game technology and game design. 

  • maintain an active research and/or creative program.

  • develop curricula.

  • provide service to the University.

ETBD faculty are actively involved in advising students; facilitating graduate/undergraduate interdisciplinary research projects; leading client-based projects; leading co-curricular activities, student organizations, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Professor: M.F.A. or Ph.D. by the date of appointment and games-related experience through teaching, research, creative achievement, and/or industry experience;

In order to be appointed at the Associate Professor level, the minimum requirements stated above must be met and there must be strong evidence of an established record of teaching and research or creative achievement.

Preferred Qualifications: Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in games related organizations, a record of significant peer-evaluated scholarship and/or successful grant writing or a record of experience in teaching in related areas.

Department will request a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, a research and/or creative program plan and a 1-page statement addressing past and/or potential contributions to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, public outreach, and/or service. The department will request letters of recommendation from references listed in the application.
