Lighting Artist
Description
We are a Wellington, NZ based feature film production company creating movies in an AR/VR space. We are building a team of Lighting artists.
Ideal candidates should have exceptional technical and artistic lighting experience with an emphasis in real time lighting design. The position provides opportunities to work on a virtual production stage. Cinematography and photography experience is highly encouraged.
Must Have
- 2 or more years as a full-time lighting artist in Feature Films.
- Working knowledge of Maya.
- Exceptional composition, light, and color aesthetics.
- Strong understanding of VFX pipelines and workflows within a Linux environment.
- Exceptional communication and collaborative skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to manage ever-changing assignments, priorities, and complex workflows.
- Knowledge lighting for real-time and offline rendering is a plus.
The project has an initial delivery in mid-2025 with the potential for ongoing contracts.
You will be joining a team working at the forefront of digital film-making, with industry leaders. There will be an initial period of training.
The role will be based on-site in Wellington, NZ. You will be engaged as an independent contractor (based on 51.25 hours per week). Applicants must be NZ residents.
