The Cleveland Indians Marketing Department is currently scouting for a wide variety of creative team players to join our premier Scoreboard Team. Suitable candidates must have in-depth knowledge of baseball, and possess strong computer skills. Interested candidates should have previous experience, ideally in sports production, and a desire to work in all facets of video, audio, and computer production. Previous experience, internships, or part-time positions in this field are beneficial. These positions will pay an hourly part-time wage of $22.50 hour. Opportunity to purchase medical benefits exists. All positions report to Manager,
In-Game Entertainment.

DakStats -
Scores game; populates stats to all Scoreboards; tracks balls & strikes;
Dakstats feeds stats from prior at bats. Required extensive knowledge of game for quickness of scoring.

Fascia / Line score Operator -
Runs all fascia scoreboards, including individual player animations, sponsor sweeps, official score decisions, speed of pitch, runs report for sponsors at end of game; runs daily-updated sponsor loop for fascias featuring all marketing messages. Also manually inserts runs immediately after runner crosses plate, hits, errors, & outs in the line score. Requires in-depth knowledge of baseball scoring. Venus 7000 knowledge a plus.

Main Scoreboard Operator – *needs to report at 2:30pm on game days (times adjusted for weekend games)
Builds & runs all information on main board including promo window, birthdays, welcomes, sponsor thanks, animations, sponsor logos on all boards, video format appearance. Flips board from full board to GIP to 16:9 to 2 video or 3 video formats. Photoshop skills required. Knowledge of Venus preferred, but not required.





V-Play Operator -
Runs video clip server. Playback of 95% of in-game video elements, including opens, lineup and headshots. Daily importation of graphics & videos. Photoshop skills required. Video server knowledge, especially V-Play, is preferred, but not required.

Technical Director / Assistant Director – *needs to report at 2:30pm on game day (times adjusted for weekend games)
Switches show on video switcher, cuts cameras and video sources from director’s cues. Also aids director in keeping eye on show. In-depth knowledge of switcher, and video levels required. DVE knowledge, preferred, but not required.

Deko Operator / Assistant Director -
Operates character generator/font title machine. Responsible for stats for pitching changes, various in-game feature graphics, various sponsor feature elements. Creates post-game monitor message. Aids director in making sure all information & graphics are accurate. In-depth knowledge of baseball scoring and statistics required. Photoshop skills required. Deko knowledge preferred, but not required.

Video Engineer -
Ensures cameras and all video sources are in tune and are displayed at the correct levels, light, color, white balance. etc. Backup to main engineer for troubleshooting and repair. In-depth knowledge of Waveform, Vectorscope, frame syncs, DA’s, and triax connectors required. Understanding of how a scoreboard room works necessary. Previous experience as Video Engineer, preferred, but not required.

LVS Operator -
Digital replay system. Shows replays. Also acts as clip server to supplement V-Play. Usually uses high home and centerfield for replays. Also builds highlight packages for inning recaps and post-game rollout. Knowledge of LVS system preferred, but not required. Knowledge of DVCam & Betacam decks required. Knowledge of Waveform & Vectorscope required.

Tape Audio Operator/MLB Logger -
Masters audio from any taped pieces and sends it to the sound room for distribution. Also records & logs games for MLB. Replay system knowledge preferred, but not required. Knowledge of DVCam & Betacam decks, and Waveform & Vectorscope required.

Final Cut Producer -
Produces and edits in-game features for playback during that day’s game. Edits most hosted features. Required is strong knowledge of baseball for MLB highlight packages. Features pre-game and in-game editing. Knowledge of Final Cut preferred, but not required. Knowledge of DVR’s preferred, but not required.

Music Coordinator / Keyboardist -
Selects and plays all ballpark music from BP through game. Also performs “Take Me Out…” live during the 7th inning to sponsor video (Is pre-cut in his absence) as well as other live organ elements throughout the game. Knowledge of all types of music required. Knowledge of I-Tunes, Napster, Windows Media Player, and Click Effects required.

Field Camera Operators -
Operate all stationary cameras in field. Shoot game action as well as scope and shoot crowd activity, especially fans that are waving & dancing & holding signs. Operation of Sony Cameras required. Requires familiarity of Ballpark in order to shoot designated fans or to reset quickly.

RF Camera -
Operates wireless RF camera during game. Shoots feature material and crowd activity as needed. Emphasizes close-ups of fans and interacts with fans to bring the game to life. Begins shooting pre-game to prep material for editing. Operation of Sony Camera and wireless RF system required. Requires familiarity of Ballpark.

Field Producer -
Produces feature segments for between innings. Directs in-park hosts and RF camera operator. Manages timing of between inning segments and scripts. Selects contestants and forwards winner information to marketing coordinator. Exceptional communication skills required. Previous experience producing, stage managing,
and/or floor directing preferred, but not required.

In-Park Host

This individual brings event to life through interviews, skits, features, and contests in the Ballpark. Main function during game is to host pre-produced and live features. Required to speak in front of a crowd. Must have outgoing and fun-loving personality with great people skills.

In-Game Router -
For non-televised games, this person selects from 3 sources on the router, controlling the video window on the scoreboard.

Production Assistant -
For select weekend games, in charge of building, watching and striking PA systems and other duties as assigned. Knowledge of proper audio levels and ability to build a Public Address system required.

STO Producer - *weekends only
Scripts, shoots, and edits highlights of Ballpark experience; uploads packages to STO. Operation of Mini-DV camera, creativity in videography, scripting, Avid editing, and producing :20 piece required for this position.
