Accountable and responsible for delivering project management services for projects with in the PMO organization. Responsible for managing projects using the ESPN Work Life Cycle and standard process, tools and methodology which includes the development of the scope of work and the management of time, cost, risk, and communications within projects. The project manager will be accountable for delivering projects in a matrix environment on time, within scope and budget. Project manager will be expected to provide project management coaching and training services as requested to other employees or consultants managing projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing projects with complete accountability working with the business partners to deliver project on time, within budget and scope.
• Develops and maintains the project plan using PlanView.
• Uses ESPN’s process and methodology for all assigned projects.
• Enhances ESPN’s methodology and work flow using PlanView with the designated methodology team to insure best practices for ESPN.
• Manages projects using standard and executive level reports and communicates the status of project with the business steering committees and Senior level management
• Manages Scope and Project issues and escalation to Senior Management.
• Coordinates internal and external Project team communications.
• Addresses issues and escalates appropriately to the project teams, business partners and the Director of Project Management.
• Establishes change control and enforces department standards for project management, methodologies and toolset usage.
• Works with business partners and project team members to define scope, requirements, priorities, delivery time requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Interprets and communicates risk assessment and scope control issues on major projects to management with suggested resolutions.
• Responsible for fostering team dynamics, morale and motivation. Helps to create an environment where all members and points of view are respected creates an atmosphere of inclusion where ideas and suggestions are welcome.
• Responsible to make difficult, complex decisions in a Project environment
• Ability to work with other people, team skills, with a positive work attitude and drive cultural change.
