Post-Production Support Technician

Description

SCAD seeks a Post-Production Support Technician for its Savannah location to support Engineering planning and operations campus-wide for the School of Entertainment Arts, Digital Media, Visual Media and other projects involving presentation and classroom audio visual installations and designs.

In this position, you will be assigned projects by the Engineering Manager to lead, perform, and complete to department standards and will assist the Engineering Manager with the setup, operation, and repair of multi-cam television systems and media creation studios, such as motion capture. The Post-Production Support Technician also provides input in the budget and procurement of new studio and post-production technology and recommends upgrades when necessary to current technology.

The ideal candidate must have experience with supporting, repairing, and assembling Avid, Avid Isis Servers, and Avid Media Composer systems as well as experience with Mac- and Windows-based computers, networking, storage area networks, and data management as it relates to digital media systems. The candidate must also have a minimum of five years’ work-related experience in the areas of video editing and post-production operations, Avid ACSR ISIS 5000 system support, and Avid ACSR editing systems support. Avid installation skill sets that relate to servers and hardware I/Os are preferred.

The ideal candidate must also have electronic maintenance skills such as installation of specialized electronics components, simple electronics circuit repairs, and basic knowledge of professional systems. The candidate should have at least two years of experience as a TV station technician, digital media service technician, hybrid artist or technician in professional film or TV productions. Familiarity with television/film and post-production environments, most notably Avid post-production work flow and IT hardware, are preferred, as is prior experience managing projects, prioritizing digital media content workflow, problem solving technical and operational challenges, and media assets file management. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to navigate and apply application, firmware, and program updates in both Mac and Windows platforms.

Required:
- Two-year degree in electronics or related field required, bachelor’s in TV, film, electronics or related digital media field as well as two years of experience in the industry
