Lead 3D Key Frame Animator: Creatures

Hidden Path Entertainment is seeking a Lead Key Frame Animator: Creatures for a AAA, third-person, open-world fantasy RPG that will take place in the Dungeons & Dragons franchise.

As Lead Key Frame Animator: Creatures, you will be responsible for collaborating with and leading a small team of internal and external keyframe animators to plan and create in game navigation and combat animation sets for iconic Dungeons & Dragons creatures. This is your chance to bring these globally beloved monsters to life!

Hidden Path Entertainment is based in the Pacific Time Zone. Employees work a 40 hour week with daily overlapping hours of 10am to 4pm Pacific time.

Post COVID, this position has the option to convert to an on-site role located in Bellevue, WA.

Requirements:

      • Shipped at least one AAA title preferred
      • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in game animation preferred
      • You are an exceptional key frame creature animator
      • Excellent understanding of keyframe animation principals – timing, weight and staging and how they affect navigation and combat in a 3rd person gameplay character
      • Strong communication and collaboration skills
      • Experience planning and scoping animation content
      • Experience leading a small team of internal animators
      • Experience working with outsourced animators and animation pipelines
      • Expert level Maya user
      • Comfortable working in UE4/5
      • Knowledge of state machines
      • Able to take animation from start to finish, concept to in game engine implementation
      • Strong collaborator with other disciplines including: Engineering, Design, Concept, Character Art, QA, Production and Animation Technology
      • Previous experience reviewing, testing, and providing feedback animation content used in game

Nice to Have:

        • Experience animating quadruped and winged game creatures shown on your reel
        • Understanding of creature face animation
        • Knowledge of working with physics and procedural systems
        • Knowledge of material/vfx animation
        • A familiarity of Dungeons and Dragons
        • Previous experience using Basecamp, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office
